Pelican Perch

We had a wedding party stay here as it sleeps 30 and although we didn’t have that many people stay this house is perfect for large groups. It’s right across the street from the beach access, easily walkable so location is 10/10. Good sized pool and hangout area. Pool was cold and hot tub is only on 6pm-12am which is slightly inconvenient if you plan on using it any other times. But overall would stay again!!

House was a great size for our large family. The kids loved playing in the pool in the morning and late afternoon once we returned from the beach. The location close to the beach made the walk over easy with many little kids. It would be helpful to have towels hooks, rods in every bathroom, currently there are none so finding a place for bath towels to hang was a challenge. We didn’t want the hot tub to turn on but it was automatically set.

Pelican Perch was the perfect home for our large extended family of 26. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was a huge plus. The private pool was great for grandkids. The home is a short walk to the public beach access, no car ride needed. The third floor was a fun hang out for the older kids. Ray from maintenance was a huge plus. He answered every question and twice made a trip to the house for housekeeping needs. We would definitely rent this house again.

Our two families of twelve adults and twelve children had the most memorable experience at 30a Pelican Perch. The kitchen had multiple dishwashers, an extra ice maker, huge refrigerator, great pantry, dishes, pans and utensils to make gourmet meals for everyone. The sleeping accommodations were excellent. We love a bathroom in every room. The pool and hot tub were great for adults and children. We especially liked being so close to the beach. Some people took the golf cart to take chairs, umbrellas, but many walked to the beach. I would recommend getting golf carts, renting umbrellas and some chairs. We had food delivered, but used the golf cart to get forgotten items at Publix . When we all vacation together again Pelican Perch is where we'll stay.

This house is perfect for hosting large groups. Has everything you need. And is in the perfect location. Short walk to the beach. Easy bike ride to Seaside. Convenient to grocery. The private pool is a wonderful bonus. Comfy beds and super responsive host. Hope we have the opportunity to stay again.

Our stay for family reunion was amazing. House location close to beach was very convenient, beach water was crystal clear. There were several items the house needs on hand since this is an event house such as oven mittens. Shout out to Ellen she was amazing answered multiple questions through the year planning for the event. 850 couldn't do it without her. Thanks for providing an outstanding house.

First of all have to give a big shout out to Ellen she was amazing answering lots of questions and phone calls back and forth! Location was great close and convenient to restaurants bars and things to do. House needs some more items to accommodate for large parties such as oven mittens, more hand towels in kitchen, bug spray, freezer door fixed. 3rd floor bathroom drain needs cleaning out, slow draining process. Hot tub pool light would be nice as it's super dark in that corner. Heated pool was a success!

This is the second time we've stayed at this property and we just love it! The house has so much space. It is located across the street from a public beach access.

This was my first time using VRBO. Pelican Perch is a wonderful home for large families because each room has its own bathroom. I looked online for days before I found this perfect fit. The open living/dining/kitchen was perfect for our big group 21 people altogether (including babies) who flew in from all over the US to the Destin-Ft. Walton airport (VPS). One-way uber is $85 w/tip. If renting a car, cheapest gas was $3.15 at Tom Thumb—not near Pelican Perch. Nearest grocery store is the Publix Watercolor. If we had teenagers there, the 3rd floor game room with foosball, air hockey, and video arcade would have been fabulous. Unfortunately, it was underused with our young children who were too short to use any of it. The bunkbeds were really neat up there, but only one of the individual TVs worked (in an upper-bunk no less!). Also no big deal for our littles, but a teenager might have been disappointed. They told me there was a pack-n-play, so we made arrangements to bring 2 others. It turns out that there were two already there. There is only 1 high- chair and no booster seats. Wi-Fi is spotty when trying to get the baby monitors to work. There is an alarm every time the door to the pool is opened—which is a nice safety feature. Be careful going up and down the carpeted stairs with your arms full—3 of us slipped. All the beds were comfy and the house was nicely decorated. The wagon to take to the beach was a lifesaver. It hauled the umbrella, boogie boards and chairs which were provided. I had to bring/buy 21 beach towels because they are not provided unfortunately. There are a couple of irons and ironing boards in closets upstairs. Pool was cleaned twice while we were there. There are a few chipped portions in the bottom of the pool, but that didn’t affect anything at all, it was crystal clear. A purple light comes on automatically around 8:00 pm and we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the hot tub. The gas grill outside was great because you don’t need charcoal nor propane tanks. There are 2 Mr. Coffee pots. The big dishwasher and 2 dish drawers were well-used. Nice to have 2 large refrigerators too. One of the lower freezer drawers was needing repair, but someone else already wrote about that in a prior review. It also had a broken bin, but we didn’t even need that side because the other freezer drawer worked well. Big Plus: a new ice machine had been installed! There are plenty of dishes and flatware for everyone. A couple of big mixing bowls would help. 100% I would stay here again (if I could afford to do that for my family every year). Kudos to the owners because it was built with love. Improvement suggestions: a doormat inside the front and back doors to catch water/sand, full length mirrors in each of the rooms, hooks in the bathrooms to hang wet bath towels, and potholders.

This house was amazing for a big group. It had more than enough space for everyone and we loved the location! Less than a 5 minute walk to beach access.

This was the second year in a row at Pelican Perch for our multi-family friend meetup. The decision to book Pelican Perch the second year in a row was a no brainer -- it was perfect for our group of 5 families (20 people + a baby). There were a couple of light bulbs out, but if that was our only complaint, you know it's good.

We loved this home. It is a very short walk to the beach. Also, it is about a mile bike ride to "downtown" Seaside, which we loved. This home had everything we needed for 5 families. The pool is a great size, and the hot tub was wonderful. Definitely hope to go back!!!

The overall property was clean and well maintained. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The pool was a big plus and totally worth heating. We loved the night time hot tub option as well. Our group had 18 people and we had plenty of room for everyone. Only a short walk from the beach. The downtown area is close as well with cute and fun shops and restaurants around. A great stay!

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We had groups from 3 different parts of the family meet us here, and there was plenty of space to spread out and not feel on top of each other. The teenage boys lived the game room, and the entire family loved the pool and hot tub. We were very sad to leave, and we will definitely stay here again!

The house was beautiful and clean. Everyone loved having their own space and there was ample room on the main level to be together and have meals. We had the pool heated for our stay in December and the kids were in it non stop. The location was so convenient, right across the street from the beach. A special shout out to Christina who was our contact person for any questions. We would definitely rent this house again.

The house was perfect and the location was great. We loved the pool and we were glad we had it heated. Our family was in it a great deal of the time. During the Covid flare up we spent much of our time between the house and the beach. It was such a short walk to the beach, we were able to easily walk back and force to the house to get lunch. We also enjoyed the closeness to Seaside and the food trucks and restaurants. I would definitely book this house again. 850 Vacations had a wonderful person assigned to answer any of our questions and trouble shoot any of of our needs. 5 star house for sure!

We had 15 people - 3 families with 9 kids ranging from infant to 10yos stay at Pelican Perch. The house had more than enough room for everyone to be together (so much seating for hang out and meals!) and have down time (including baby/toddler naps). It was great to have the kitchen and family space right off the pool deck so the cooks felt part of the action. The house had everything we needed and more! The game room and bunk bed rooms were so fun and really entertained the kids during beach downtime. The location to the beach is amazing (that 30A water!) - access right at the end of street! The pool/hot tub with a water sun deck was so fun and great for baby and littles. The property manager was so responsive to any needs! We had a great time and would highly recommend Pelican Perch to friend and family! The property manager also allowed us to use a grocery service to have the house stocked at our arrival (Vanessa at Pristine Grocery Delivery of 30A) and we did a beach bonfire with Pirates Life 30A Bonfires. An epic week!!! Thank you so much!

This house is awesome! It is spacious enough that our family had plenty of room. The kids especially loved the third floor equipped with games and each bunk had its own little tv! We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub! The short walk to the beach was especially nice. There was a small issue with a dryer door that was handled by maintenance in a timely manner. Such a great week at Pelican Perch! We had 7 families all staying together, with kids ranging from 12-21 AND a 3-month-old. We were all blown away at how clean the property was when we showed up; check-in was a breeze. With an infant in the house, we were worried about noise levels, but were very impressed with the acoustics and how quiet the bedrooms were when you were in them. The kitchen is the perfect setup for a large group - double appliances were key (and a requirement when we were searching for homes). Seaside was close, the beach was closer - perfect location & setup! The group at 850 always answered my messages promptly leading up to our trip (Ellen), and someone from maintenance (Christina) touched base with us almost daily to make sure things were going smoothly. The only things we wished we had were a skimmer for the pool and a better ice machine; the counter-top machine provided had mildew all on the inside. We have already checked the calendar to see if we can book again!

We had an awesome time at Pelican Perch! Everything was so nice. We had ample space for all 25 of us! Maintenance responded quickly to our minor issues! Would definitely stay there again!

We found the perfect house for our celebration. There was something for everyone. The third floor game room kept the children occupied for hours. We were also very close to the beach. The house has a large, well stocked kitchen and we found everything we needed.

We stayed at Pelican Perch with two other families and it was perfect for what we needed! There was plenty of room to spread out and the pool and hot tub were great. It's right across the street from the beach access and although it was closed the week we were there we only had to walk another block to gain access. We could have used a vacuum cleaner and broom/dustpan to clean up the sand that all of those feet dragged in during the week and a few more glasses but other than that we had what we needed and enjoyed our stay! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at this property for spring break with a group of 8 adults and 11 kids (age 1-8). The location was great, the assistance with the property was great, and the size & layout of the house was also great. It had everything we needed to have an amazing trip!

Due to covid we re-routed our annual guys golf trip from Palm Springs to the 30A area and were extremely impressed with all the area had to offer. As for the house - All 8 guys (late 30’s/early 40’s) had their own spacious room and their own bathroom/shower which can be difficult to find at a reasonable price, but Pelican Perch delivered in a big way. Not only were the sleeping arrangements fantastic, but so was the entire house! Plenty of room to hang in both the upstairs game loft and in the main floor kitchen, family and dining area. The outdoor pool/hot tub area was also perfect. The house was adequately stocked for large groups. Plenty of silverware, plates, cups...etc. Also a huge double refrigerator/freezer that allowed us to stock up and not have to make multiple trips to the store. It was also nice having 2 washer/dryers in the house. The location is perfect with the beach across the street and plenty of restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. This house met and exceeded all of our needs and would also be a great house for large family gatherings with plenty of room for younger kids to bunk up and have their own retreat up stairs. The management was very accommodating and checked up on us throughout the trip, but we never needed anything. If you are looking for a house by the beach for a large gathering Pelican Perch has it all covered.

We loved our stay. The three separate floors allowed our group to spread out. The heated pool was a must & the hot tub was over the top amazing. For freezing weather sure did enjoy the warm water.

Great home. It was a perfect size for our big family vacation. Everyone had their own bathroom and there was so much dining space and living room space for all of us to hang out and play games. The game room was a big hit with all the kids. And the pool was a perfect size. It was three minutes walking from the beach. And access to the beach is literally crossing the street. We had such a great time. Ellen and Daniel were on top of everything! They truly made this Vacation easy.

Great property! Lots of room and beds, kitchen was great but needed a couple of larger pans as we were cooking for 26 people but we did it. Pool was great and teenagers loved the game room. Everyone was wonderful to work with.

We had the best week at Pelican Perch! It was beautiful and exactly as shown in the pictures. The location was close to all our favorite places, and the walk to the beach was even better than we had imagined. So close! Daniel was amazing. He was in touch within a couple of hours of our arrival and anytime we had concerns they were taken care of that day! We would definitely stay there again! Thank you for such a great stay!

The layout was perfect for 6 couples and lots of teens. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. Loved the pool and location. The beach access was perfect for those who can’t do stairs. Easy walk or bike ride to Seaside. Ellen at 850 was great to work with and had everything ready for us! Hated to leave!

Great house! Plenty of room and lots of bunk beds for large families or many families with children. We were only 6 people so we had more than enough room. Pool was large and the hot tub was a nice addition. The game room was awesome and adults and children enjoyed it. We visited during the Pandemic so just took advantage of the pool even though the beach was a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.

This house is gorgeous- laid out really well for a large group, extremely clean, and a quick walk to the beach. We had a couple of minor issues, and maintenance was super responsive and fixed right away. We will definitely stay here again!

The house is great. We had 8 couples enjoying 8 bedroms and 8 1/2 baths. The living space, kitchen and dining areas were great. The pool and the hot tub was fabulous. It was a good time for all!

Our stay at Pelican Perch was wonderful. We had 25 extended family members spanning 4 generations and there was room for everyone to have their own space yet room for all of us to eat together and congregate at night. It was very close to the beach so we could walk or ride the cart. There was ample parking for all 7 cars since we came from all over. The pool was perfect after the beach. Seaside was within biking distance. The kitchen was adequately stocked with basics but I would bring plates and glasses if you have a big group. Natalie was very helpful through my questions before our arrival and she responded promptly with any questions during our stay. We recommend this home for a great beach vacation at Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
